Studio Skadi
In the old tongue, Skadi is the goddess of the mountains, the winter, and the wilderness. She is a figure of fierce independence, a huntress who chooses her own path and thrives in the raw elements.
We chose the name Studio Skadi because it represents the spirit of our move from the flatlands of the Netherlands to the forests of Lunner, Norway. It is a name that honors the "Old Ways": a time when humanity lived in rhythm with Mother Nature, and when "vision" meant more than just seeing, it meant understanding the landscape and the soul within it.
Our story
Studio Skadi is a partnership in every sense of the word. We are Igor and Anna—partners in life, parents to our son Bjorn, and the creative force behind this studio.
In October 2025, we traded the flatlands of the Netherlands for the rugged beauty of Lunner, Norway. Driven by a long-held dream of social security, a balanced lifestyle, and a better future for our children, we chose the wilderness as our new home. We didn’t just move; we started over. We navigated the "jungle" of relocation, mastered the long processes, and found the strategic shortcuts. Today, we use that hard-won experience to serve as a Relocation Helpdesk for other young Dutch families and couples, turning your dream of a life in the North into a manageable reality.
What we do.
01. The Creative Studio
Led by Anna’s intuitive, documentary style and strategic military background, Studio Skadi is a sanctuary for Visual Storytelling and Creative Strategy. We believe in Humanity Above All, stripping away the "studio fluff" to reveal the raw, genuine identities of individuals and organizations alike.
Documentary & Corporate Photography: My work is a commitment to the long-form narrative. I specialize in documenting the evolving stories of families and the authentic "behind-the-scenes" of professional environments. From the first breath of a newborn to high-impact corporate imagery, I observe and document the truths that others miss.
Employer Branding & Corporate Identity: We guide start-ups and established organizations in building a transparent, natural presence. By cultivating a bespoke Digital Media Library, we ensure your brand speaks with a consistent, human voice that resonates with both elite talent and loyal clients.
Creative Consulting & Content: We act as your strategic creative partner to overcome organizational hurdles and routine thinking. Through Sága (Content Creation) and high-level advisory, we provide the vision and the tangible building blocks, photography, video, and story-driven copy, to document your professional legacy.
02. Northbound
We believe that moving to the North shouldn't be a lonely journey. Having navigated the "wild ride" of relocation ourselves, we serve as the Keepers of the Way for young Dutch families, couples, and individuals. We aren’t just a consultancy; we are your anchors on the ground.
The Northbound Guide: A comprehensive digital roadmap that strips away the complexity of the "relocation jungle." From securing international certificates and navigating the UDI to the essential steps for BankID, we map out exactly what you need to know to transition smoothly.
The Journal: A visual and written archive where we share the raw, honest reality of our own journey. Through a documentary lens, we provide a window into the quiet truths and atmospheric daily life of Norway.
The Outpost: Our dedicated helpdesk and consultancy hub. Whether through a Scouting Session or a deep-dive Expedition Map, we offer direct support to ensure your family finds its footing in the North without having to start over alone.
Meet the Team
Anna
Visual Communication Specialist | Bachelor of Arts
I'm a Dutch-born documentary and portrait photographer of 27 years old. My work is driven by a deep, human curiosity: I am fascinated by what moves people and how we connect with one another.
I specialize in capturing authentic, natural moments with an intuitive and observant style. Whether documenting a wedding, an event, or an outdoor portrait session, I focus on the genuine emotions that emerge when people feel free to move and be themselves. Aside from the fact that my work flourishes in the outdoors, I also have a portable studio. Here we can create professional business portraits, product photo's or other studio work.
Beyond my camera lens, I bring a strategic background in visual communication and employer branding from my experience with the Royal Netherlands Army. This allows me to help businesses create comprehensive visual libraries, editorial portraits, and creative strategies that translate their core values into a compelling narrative.
I live by the motto: "I have never tried that before, so I think I should definitely be able to do that". This energy defines my approach to every project, blending professional decisiveness with a positive, solution-oriented mindset. When I am not working, you will find me exploring the Norwegian wilderness with my husband and son, diving into a good -probably fantasy- book as a burrito blanked on the couch with our two cats, enjoying the local sports scene or create some made-from-scratch meals.
Igor
International Teacher | Bachelor of Education
I am a Dutch born teacher driven by passion for history of Western and Northern Europe. I am an international homeroom teacher MYP at Discovery International School Norway. Teaching several subjects including Social Studies.
My passion for Norway began when I first went to Oslo in 2017 during a citytrip in February. I fell in love with the winter that befell the city and especially the fjord. At that time I did not see myself moving to Norway yet. But after my Minor at Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2018, I felt the urge to start living and teaching abroad. I had set my goal and I wanted it to become a reality. After eight years of teaching in the Netherlands I decided together with my wife Anna to make a leap of faith and plan a move to Norway. I would say the best decision we have made so far in our still short lives!
During my free time I like to share my adventures with my wife and son. Be outdoors and enjoy the Norwegian rugged landscapes on bikes, hikes or during a run!
My role at Studio Skadi will primarily be one of behind-the-scenes support for my wife's exciting new venture. Specifically, my main focus will be on Northbound and managing inquiries related to immigration to Norway.
Nuggets to know about us
We both are learning Norwegian (Bokmål) as soon and much as possible, so for now the communication is preferable in English, but have a little bit of patience and also make us sweat by speaking Norwegian to us.
Aside from speaking Norwegian as the same level as a feral toddler at the moment, Anna can speak 6 languages. Not all on the same level, but still, that’s impressive.
While Igor went studying abroad in Northern Ireland, he picked up a Northern Irish accent and still can’t get rid off it.
In 2025 Anna read a total of 106 books, which were mostly romantacy.
So if you ever want to start a bookclub or want some recommendations…
We both have many tattoo’s which are based on the Norse folkore and mythology.
We both were top athletes in our youths. Igor was a pro athlete in track cycling and was a beast on the road and Anna was a canon in badminton. To be honest, Igor was at a higher level compared to Anna, but still we were both competing on international level.
You can imagine game nights…
Anna is momentarily practicing flying a drone and capturing photo’s and film so when the level has been elevated to our professional standards, this will also be available to use and combine with other services.
After Anna’s graduation internship with the Dutch Army, she stayed for 4 years at the recruitment department to bring the visual communication to a professional level it should be to recruit the most effective. Meanwhile she joined a couple of international military exercises with her happy little goat attitude.
