Feeling with your body. For Margarita, being a witch is a way of life. One in which you listen to your surroundings, and above all to your own body. It’s found in the small things of life, she told me. The tiny sounds around you that ground you in your environment, or the gentle breeze nudging you in the right direction. But always listen to what Mother Earth offers you.

Feeling with your body and trusting your body is essential and perhaps we should all trust it a little more.

Every photograph I made of Margarita and her life can be seen as a puzzle piece: you only see the whole picture once you’ve seen all the images and know the full story. While making the photos, I focused on the small elements of Margarita’s life and her beliefs, so that each image offers a glimpse into what her worldview truly entails.
